About the process:
Laser welding is a non-contact method of selectively joining materials, using a well-defined, intense energy beam as a heat source.
Advantages:
- Very little heat-affected zone on welded components
- Process allows precise joining of small parts
- A precise weld requiring no filler material
- A wide variety of materials can be laser welded, including dissimilar metals
- Thin materials can be laser welded
- Provides a means of welding areas inaccessible by other methods
- A productive, efficient process using CNC-automation
Equipment/Capabilities
- 2 Photon Sources V-1200 1,200-watt carbon-dioxide units with CNC automation
